Hi Olly!
I'll write the new experiences ASAP. The KTM factory had some ideas and sent the proper pieces. Hope they'll help. As I heard they're mainly sealings and O-Rings.
The dealer told me they'll be here on Monday - but it depends on the customs very much .
Here is an avarage tale, that the parts arrive from almost everywhere in days and the custom office sits on them for a few weeks .
It was almost perfekt .
The 10 point solution is "köszönöm". But that's the verb, the noun is: "Köszönet".
That was the "Learn Hungarian easy and fast" lesson for today.

Rainer Kroll keeps his nose to the grindstone as long as it takes to solve the problem. That's how I know him - he outed himself as a "Workaholic" He will never leave customers alone with problems. I like that very much...
Köszönet for the corrections ! Always good to learn something more. Unfortunately long ago, since I've been in Hungary the last time.
Good luck with your problem,
Olly

The obvious overpressure in the cooling-circuit can only have one reason: a defective cylinder-head-gasket.

Peters problem is 100 % turn to the other side.
He has a vacuum in his cooling system.
So, if the gasket is not ok, his bike must have water in the cylinder.......or am I wrong ?

Hi!
Not exactly, I have vacuum only when it cools down. But I hope we'll receive the parts today and will end this problem on this week. The cylinder head gasket is a real option too, but it has to have a very minor problem - since neither the oil, nor the water has any contaminations, that could be seen by eyes.
Time will tell...

@Szepy
hello, i think i have the same problem with the cooling system as you. I´m very intrestet what parts will be changed to solve the problem.
Perhaps you can post the KTM-parts list, which will solve the problem.
What will make you virtually certain that the cylinder head gasket is okay. Mabye only the gas flows into the cooling system and not in the other direction?
Greetings and looking forward to your reply

In the most of the cases, when the cylinder head gasket leaks oil gets into the water and/or water gets into the oil. The oil becames dull and has foam on it. The water also heats up - because of the hot gases.
Neither of this symptoms appear.
It's also possible that the problem is in the first cylinder head and the water temperature sensor is on the back.
Next week on wednesday we'll take it apart and see what's inside.

@Szepy
mabye there is also an other case, when the head gasket is minimal defective between the "water" and the "combustion space" fuel gas will flow into the water and press it out of the radiator into compensating reservoir.
The KTM-ideas don´t crack the problem?
when you take it apart on (auseinandernehmen?) wednesday, we will hope the problem will be solved.
pherhaps we will have a progress in the trouble shooting. mabye i can look with an hc-tester whether there are fuel gases in the cooling-water or not before next wednesday.

That's exactly what I thought...
I'll be next to the bike when it's "cured", hopefully I can even take part at the work so I hope I can write all the expreriences from "the very first hand" .

Thanx for the information.
Which one? How big is the problem?
Approximately how long did the repair take? Is it good since than?

@ Rainer
Hallo! Wir hatten heute mittag telefoniert.
(onkel in Oberhausen).
Ciao Andreas |
